The Blue Jays have been dogging the Barred Owls as they move about during the day to hunt.  I counted eight of them in hot pursuit the other day.  On Thursday, this Barred Owl flew into the woodland with a vole it had caught.  Luckily, the owl allowed me to get just a couple images before it flew decidedly to the south towards the nest area.  I wonder how many owlets there are.

This past Friday and Saturday, we had over 2" of rain.  Dan finally had a chance to refill the feeders and within 15 minutes, a female Red-winged Blackbird stopped in for a quick meal.  The bird makes 31 species for the year here.

One of my favorite things to do is to check the Bubbler Cam video clips first thing in the morning.  Motion triggers it to record, sometimes birds are too small to do that, but usually mammals will.  Rain, sleet, ice and snow don't necessarily hinder activity in nature.  So, here is a late winter video compiled in iMovie from clips taken in the last few weeks.  Enjoy the surprises!
