It's been a very busy time here getting ready for garden tour season!

Shady Oaks will be one of nine gardens on tour this coming Saturday, June 6.  It is the Collection of Color Tour for the East Central District of the Federated Garden Clubs of Missouri.  Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 on the day of the tour. For more information, contact [email protected]

Shady Oaks will also be on the inaugural St. Louis Native Plant Garden Tour on Saturday, June 20, 2015.  There are ten native plant gardens of varying size and maturity, some with water features to attract birds, too.  It's wonderful to be a part of this tour, the proceeds will benefit St. Louis Audubon's Bring Conservation Home program and St. Louis Wild Ones who have coordinated this event.

If you would like tickets to go on this tour, you must register with St. Louis Audubon Society by June 10, which is coming up fast!

It's been a labor of love and we are happy to announce that Shady Oaks is now Bring Conservation Home Certified GOLD!

Ann, that was memorable!! They emerged by the thousands here. We had 'cicada mulch'. This spring has been much more pleasant, though the birds have been fewer.

That is very exciting. I look forward to seeing your garden again. I will never forget all of the cicadas when you were on MoBot's tour.
