Yesterday morning, I took time to observe happenings in the garden for a while. There was a lot of begging going on, by young Northern Cardinals and at least 4 Carolina Wrens. I heard the Eastern Wood Peewee call, as he has been every day, morning, noon and night. I hardly ever see that bird, but today he showed himself and his new family!

Both adults were very busy fly-catching and feeding the youngsters, high in a catalpa tree in the swampy thicket.

It was great fun watching their acrobatic technique. These two youngsters must have just left the nest.
